Barges
construction barge: AEGIR 30
The Aegir 30 provides a large, stable, maneuverable mooring platform suitable for salvage, marine construction and lifting operations. The capabilities of this barge have been proven during various projects, including the Port of Ngqura construction, Durban Harbour Entrance Widening, Richards Bay Berth 208 and 305 construction, Moma Jetty construction, Port of Saldhana dredging as well as numerous salvage and wreck removal projects.
deck barge: imvubu
The Imvubu is a shallow draft, fl at top barge suitable for ocean transport of cargo. The shallow draft of this vessel allows access to the river and estuarine regions along the East Coast of South Africa.
dumb barge: inyathi
The Inyati dumb barge can be configured either as a versatile flat top work platform or, with the addition of derricks, as a specialist liftbarge for handling beams of up to 70 tons.
dumb barge: inkonkoni
This Inkonkoni dumb barge can be configured either as a flat top ocean going transport barge or, with the addition of spuds and hydraulics, as a versatile work platform suited to diving, crane or excavator operations.
deck barge: jumbo
The jumbo is suited for general construction and transportation. She has been used for stone placing and as a platform for piling, dredging and demoliiton.
modular jack-up barge: sea island
The Sea Island Jack-Up Barge provides an ideal structure for protected waters geotechnical drilling and coring. This vessel can also function as a platform for long reach excavators used in dredging operations.
construction barge: ubhejane
The Ubejane is a versatile, manoeuvrable platform ideal for lifting, diving, salvage and construction work. This vessel has been successfully utilised to complete various projects, including the Mhatuze Pipeline Installation and Maintenance, Durban Harbour Widening and Island View Quay Rehabilitation.

Tugs & Workboats
2200 HP towing tug: n'Dongeni
The Ndongeni tug is well equipped for offshore towing operations, salvage and dive support. This is Subtech's primary tow vessel used for the relocation of the company's barge fleet.
1000 bhp coastal towing tug: reier
The Reier is a small, powerful and easily manoeuvrable port operations and near coast tug, and is ideally used for barge handling and as support to harbour construction projects.
utility vessel: fleur du cap
The MV Fleur Du Cap is available as a security escort to vessels transiting high risk areas, or engaging in specialist operations such as rig removals, cable laying or surveys. The vessel is able to provide accommodation for up to 20 client personnel and is the perfect platform for a mobile protection team. A twin engine configuration, along with many other features, make this a desirable option for an escort vessel - easily powering at >14 knots and comfortably cruising at 12 knots.
8m semi rigid inflatables
The 8m Rigid Hull inflatables can be quickly deployed by road anywhere in the Southern African continent. They are highly maneuverable and can be used for surf or harbour launch support of salvage, diving and other marine operations.

The Ceto is a stable work platform with a powerful engine that can be used for support to harbour based diving, marine construction and barge handling projects.
shallow draft jet boat: madfish
A fast, versatile craft capable of operating in shallow water. Ideal for crew transfer, survey or diving operations.
survey/work boat: mako
The Mako is a versatile work boat that can be used for crew transport and support to inshore construction projects. Her rigid hull makes her less susceptible to damage than inflatable vessels.
utility cat: surveyor II
The Surveyor 2 is a specialist survey craft. This vessel has been involved in a number of pre- and post dredge surveys for large dredging contracts, including the Durban Harbour Widening, Port of Ngqura Construction as well as projects in Maputo and Beira.

The Tapanga is a fast, stable platform for crew transfer, dive support and surveying.
landing craft: bismarck
Aluminium hulled landing craft suitable for use as a diving tender or for general work boat applications.

Cranes & Lifting
mobile crane: lima 7700
The Lima crane has been a useful tool in many of Subtech's recent projects, both barge and land based. It has been useful for wreck removal using an orange peel grab, dredging using a rock breaching chisel and clam shell grab as well as lifting projects such as the construction of the Moma jetty and Berth 208 in Richards Bay.

Pumps & Specialist Equipment
hydraulic breaker
Heavy duty breaker which has been modified for use underwater. The V55 is a heavy duty breaker which is perfectly matched with our long reach excavators for underwater demolition or rock excavation work.
DOP dredge pump
Heavy duty submersible dredge pump, which can be crane or excavator mounted for accurate dredging in soft materials. The pump is submersible and thus does not need priming, and has no head losses in the suction line, leading to better efficiencies than with surface mounted pumps. The DOP pump can be fitted with water jets or a cutter head depending on the bed characteristics.
long reach excavator: EX 800
The long reach excavators are capable of underwater excavation in hard and soft materials down to 16m water depth. Increased depths can be achieved depending on the attachments.

Subtech owns a variety of cable location, recovery and burial tools. In addition, we have access to the latest generation of specialised installation and repair equipment through our association with other companies.
